Thai Yoga Massage
Originating in India, Thai Massage Bodywork is one of the 3 branches of Traditional Thai Medicine, the Circle of Life, which include: The Spiritual branch, The Physical branch, and the Energy branch. Unlike what most may conclude, Thai Massage is part of the Energy branch of Medicine. The Spiritual branch would include Traditional Shamanistic Work, while the Physical branch includes herbal prescription as well as nutritional guidelines.
Traditional Thai Massage incorporated palming and thumbing techniques along the 10 major energy pathways, zen lines, that carry Lom (energy), throughout our bodies. Joint mobilization as well as passive stretching is also used during the 2-Hour routine in order to increase flexibility and facilitate the flow of Lom.
Thai Massage increases flexibility, range of motion, circulation and metabolic rate in addition to many more therapeutic benefits it has been known to bring over the thousands of years it has been practiced. |
