Deep Tissue Massage
Deep Tissue Massage involves the use of Connective Tissue Therapy (CTT, slow deep strokes along muscle fibers) as well as Trigger Point Therapy to release chronic muscle tension. Deeper layers of muscle are targeted as well as the tendons, ligaments, and fascia surrounding each muscles. Adhesion often occur between bundles of muscle fibers. CTT as well as deep friction will break up the adhesion and allow muscles to return to their more fluid state. A full body deep tissue massage would take several hours due to the specificity of the work and slowness of the strokes. A Deep Tissue Massage will address the specific areas linked to a region you may be having trouble with. The rest of the body will be worked using mostly Swedish Massage techniques with the occasional deep tissue attention to specific locations where tension is found.
