Sharon Dougherty
Greetings!
I enjoy taking the time to get to know each of my clients. Everybody is different and each person brings their own individual patterns and past traumas. When I meet you at the table, I trust that your body already knows how to heal itself. I allow my intuition to guide me to the areas that are in need of the most attention during each session. I combine Swedish, deep tissue, myofascial techniques, presencing and various forms of energy work. I attended Friday Harbor School of Massage in Washington. When not doing bodywork, I enjoy gardening, cooking, hiking, being on the water and astrology. |
Meet Michelle Smith
I was born in Hartford, Connecticut and moved to Roanoke, Virginia in 2006. I have been in the hair industry for 21 years, during which, I began noticing more and more health issues affecting me. The most prominent being numerous food and chemical sensitivities. I spent much of my time researching and experimenting with elimination diets, rotation diets, detoxing, etc., trying to find the right combination of nutritious foods and to eliminate more and more chemicals. I discovered a positive correlation between how I was feeling and the dietary changes I was making. In 2017 I was diagnosed with Lyme Disease and other co-infections, which explained a lot of the debilitating symptoms. With treatment, I have regained some of my life back but food still plays a huge role in my health. This whole experience led me to start researching ways that I could learn more about food, proper nutrition, and how to change my diet to strengthen and help my body to heal itself. I decided I wanted to commit to a year long health coaching program with the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN). The program helped me by advancing my knowledge of nutrition and emphasizing the importance of life balance. I entered the program to help myself but along the way realized that I have the ability to help others. The amount of information out there is confusing and sometimes misleading, but I am able to simplify it and personalize it to meet each individual’s needs. I believe with the right balance between whole, nutritious food, and a fulfilling, enjoyable life, we can thrive and be our best. Whether one wants to lose weight, heal from an illness, or has a desire to establish sustainable lifestyle and dietary habits, I am here to support them through their journey to health.
